Dear Concierge Club Members,
I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for your continued support of the theatre, and remind everyone of some upcoming events. Our next Concierge Club Monthly Movie will take place this upcoming Thursday, April 30th. Please mark your calendars and join us for this free members only event! We will announce this month’s movie soon, so keep an eye out for it.
We also now have $5.00 Tuesdays each week. All shows, all day Tuesdays are just $5.00 (excluding 3D features which are always and additional $2.00). We also have the $5.00 Early Bird Matinees, which showcase all our shows starting before Noon every day!
This week we have a movie that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2008, and is making it’s way onto the big screen here at Spotlight Theatres...Sunshine Cleaning. The plot revolves around former high school cheerleading captain Rose Lorkowski (Adams) is a thirty-something single mother who cleans houses for a living. Wanting to send her trouble-making eight-year-old son Oscar (Jason Spevack) to a private school, Rose decides to take her married lover's advice and get into the "lucrative" business of crime scene cleanup. Rose convinces her disillusioned, underachieving sister Norah (Blunt) to join her in the enterprise, which she calls "Sunshine Cleaning." The sisters begin to find meaning in their function to "help" in some way in the aftermath of a loss, just as the job stirs up memories of their own mother's death. Their priorities and goals tested, Rose and Norah face
hard challenges as they strive to improve their lives.
We would truly appreciate your support of this film, because it will help us show the major studios that Lake Oconee wants to see more independent and art house features!
Thanks again for your support, and we’ll see you at the movies!
